Physical Health:
There is not much new here to report. I did start wearing a smart watch to track some health data. To absolutely no one’s surprise — and right on schedule 🀣 — I developed a rash on my skin underneath the watch. It is a little difficult to see in this image, but this was the best picture I could get:

The interesting part of this story is that even after not wearing the watch at all for a few days, the rash would reappear in the same spot after dinner for a few hours every evening. Luckily, I told my chiropractor/acupuncturist about it, and she was able to help.

The good news is that I was able to get some good data before I had to stop wearing the watch. And, even having to stop wearing the watch for now is useful information.

Home Building Process:
We have been told that we are right on schedule in the home building process, and that is surprising to us since we have 2 big meetings for the house in the next 3 weeks. They don’t usually schedule these types of meetings back-to-back, so I am not sure that we are right on schedule as we have been told. They are switching up the steps in their home building process, and we just so happen to be the guinea pigs for their new system. I don’t think they realized how much time some of this initial process was taking on their end, and now they are trying to catch up. However, I know that we are not too far behind, so that is good. Digging is supposed to start in the next few weeks, and that is similar to the timetable we were given at contract.

Those of you who are part of our inner circle understand how often my husband and I are the guinea pigs in other areas of our life, so you can imagine how *not* excited we were to find out that we were the guinea pigs for this new home building process as well. Fortunately, I think their new process will benefit us in the long run; we just have to make it to the long run. 🀣 And, they have no idea how lucky they are to have my husband and me as their guinea pigs given that both of us a have natural tendency toward kindness and patience.

The next few weeks are going to be very busy, so I will need to safeguard my very limited amount of energy.

Emotional Health:
As usual, my feelings are right on schedule as well. 🀣 Most of the time, I don’t give a second thought about how vulnerable I am in my blog posts. I know my purpose, and I don’t care about the rest. However, there have been brief times on this journey when I have had a vulnerability hangover . . . when I feel like I have shared too much and don’t have the energy for the negativity from the outside world. The last few months have been a vulnerability hangover for me. I have continued to write, because I know that my vulnerability has to be helping someone. But, there are difficult emotions and feelings that come up for me from time to time due to how long I have been in the messy middle of this health journey and how much I have shared publicly. During these times, I take extra care to remind myself that I am feeling exactly the way I should be feeling, and I am doing a great job with it all.

My emotional flexibility is outstanding, and I am able to navigate whatever it is that I am feeling and stay the course. A big thank you to myself for doing the emotional work these last 20+ years in order to be prepared for moments like this.

And, instead of taking in any negativity from the outside world, I am imagining all of the people who love me, through both their words and actions, cheering me on from the shore.

They are not cheering for me because I have won the battle, but because I keep showing up. And, that is what truly matters.

Brutal. Rashes. Being the guinea pigs for a new home building process. Having a very limited amount of energy. Vulnerability hangovers.

Beautiful. More health data. Being “right on schedule” in all of the positive ways. Safeguarding my very limited amount of energy. Emotional flexibility. Imagining all of my people cheering me on. Continuing to show up for myself and this health journey.

Just another day of . . . This Brutiful Life: The Brutal & Beautiful Moments of My Life.
