“You should write a book!”
I can’t tell you how many times I have heard this from various medical practitioners, therapists, close friends, and family members. I have heard it at least 6 times in the last two years and about 10 times in the last five years. It always fascinates me, because my life is not that interesting (as those of you who are still following along can see). My life is rather boring compared to the lives of other people I know.
This week, another practitioner told me that I should write a book. She said she would definitely read it as long as I am my authentic self and cuss in it. 𤣠She said that I am eloquent, but I have an added authentic touch (read: potty mouth). I am not sure about eloquent, but I do have an “authentic” touch. I guess my potty mouth makes others feel more comfortable?!? Happy to help with the cussing!
I told her that I have begun to share my story (though, not in book form), but I am still unsure if what I have to say will resonate with anyone else. I guess I will keep typing and trust that it will resonate with others at some point along the way.
In the meantime, I will leave you with my favorite go-to venting statement, “This is fucking bullshit!” If you, too, need to vent about something, give it a try. It definitely helps!
Brutal. The fucking bullshit. <waves hands all around>
Beautiful. Knowing which venting statements really work for me. Being authentic in the midst of life’s ups and downs.
Just another day of . . . This Brutiful Life: The Brutal & Beautiful Moments of My Life.
